HISTORY<\/h2>

The law office J. Georgakakis and Associates was founded in 1973 in Athens by John Georgakakis, who had close cooperation and friendship with the pioneers of the field of Intellectual Property in Greece, the late George Koumantos and Victor Melas. Thus, he created one of the first law offices in Greece that covered such a wide range of services related to Intellectual Property and related matters. The same spirit of highly specialised legal services with a comprehensive understanding of the interaction of various areas of law, still continues to this day.<\/p>

John Georgakakis was indeed a distinguished lawyer, one of the original members of the Greek national group of ALAI (the International Literary and Artistic Association) and is recognised as a reference person by practitioners on matters of commercial law, corporate law, european law and competition law, having served as Director of Legal Services of the TITAN Group and having represented clients before the Greek courts and the European Court of Justice.<\/p>

Afroditi Georgakaki-Karamitsani began her career at the office of Christos and George Karamitsanis, and served as Director of Legal Services of the Hellenic Bottling Company (now COCA-COLA 3E). She started working with the Georgakakis and Associates in 1984, expanding and enriching its curriculum towards civil law, property law, family law, commercial law and all aspects of industrial property law.<\/p>\t

The office is now headed by Emmanuel Georgakakis, who studied at the University of Strasbourg, has worked abroad in prominent law firms, at Granrut (now Herald) in Paris and Ashurst in Brussels, and has served as Director of the Legal Department of the Collective Management Organisation GEA, Greece\u2019s Collective Management Organisation for music performers and producers. He is a member of ALAI (the International Literary and Artistic Association) and has extensive practical and judicial experience.<\/p>

Georgakakis and Associates Law Office has been providing specialised legal services in a wide range of law, with legal advice and representation before the courts.
